I build things
that make sense.

I'm Ashley — developer, problem-solver, and someone who gets a little too excited when something complicated can be made simpler.

Make it
simpler.

If something takes six steps and should take two, it bugs me.

Make it
useful.

I care a lot more about whether something works well than whether it checks every trendy box.

Make it
make sense.

Good design and good development should make things easier, not more confusing.

I'm usually the one who says, “okay, but why are we doing it this way?”

I ended up in software engineering because I'm incapable of leaving things alone. If something can be cleaner, faster, easier, or just make more sense, I'm probably going to mess with it until it does.

That shapes how I write code. I'm not interested in making something complicated just because I can. I'd rather understand the problem, strip out the nonsense, and build the thing that actually helps.

Some projects are simple websites. Some turn into stores, automations, custom tools, or systems nobody had a clean name for yet. Those are usually my favorite.

Also: I'm a real person. Very inconvenient, I know.

I like plants, dogs, and apparently creating more work for myself by constantly deciding something could be better.

It's a questionable time management strategy, but it keeps things interesting.
